Summer Greeting
Dear Students and Parents,
I hope you've all had a wonderful summer vacation.
We can't wait to welcome our new and old students to the new school year, and we will do everything we can to make it a great year full of enthusiasm and learning.
A lot of exciting things have happened at our school over the summer. The basement with specialist subject rooms has been renovated during the summer holidays, and by autumn the staff room and the last stage of the basement that will be fully renovated. We have therefore used the school's canteen for staff until the newly renovated staff room is ready – hopefully by late autumn.
While completing the thorough renovation of the specialist subject rooms in the basement, as well as the entire corridor area, we had the opportunity to create a brand-new outdoor area. Therefore, we are delighted with the opening of the "Solgården", our new outdoor area for the older students.
And this year, it's been 10 years since we opened the International Department with just 15 students. Today we are approximately 220 students in the International! A fantastic achievement that should be celebrated by the whole school, and we will do so on Friday 26th August.
For parents of both new and old students, I would like to point out that we as a city school have traffic challenges and limited parking spaces for drop-off and pick-up. I therefore appeal that drop-off and pick-up be done in the city's parking lots, which your child can then walk to school from. With regard to the smaller students who cannot go to school themselves, I would encourage you to park on Dronning Margrethes Vej and walk through the park. We will, like previous years, from week 43 (just after the autumn holidays) have the "gåbus/walking bus" through the park. We'll write more about that as the time approaches.
Wishing for a happy new school year for students, parents and staff.
Mads Frost
Principal
